Falcons pull away from Redmen
By BRANDON DRAKE

MOUNT BLANCHARD - For two and a half quarters, Riverdale girls' basketball team struggled to gain the upper hand on a short-handed Bucyrus team.
But without the services of leading scorer Chelsea Hawkins, things quickly turned in favor of the Falcons on Tuesday in the second half as they secured their place on top of the North Central Conference with a 55-40 win.
"You know, that's one of the things I always tell them is that everybody is going to come ready to play you," said Riverdale coach MaryAnn Holderman, as her team moves two games ahead of the Redmen in the conference standings. "We've got that target on our backs and we can't take a night off. We have to come ready to play every single night. And not just come ready to play, it's got to be for four quarters and we can't take a break and decide to rest one or two of them."
