USMS announces December students of the month
At Upper Sandusky Middle School, a student can be chosen as student of the month for many reasons, including showing a measurable improvement in academics; showing a willingness to help other students and teachers; showing a genuine concern for school; showing signs of personal improvement; being involved in school and community activities; having a positive attitude; being dependable and reliable; and showing the ability to get along with others.
The award is open to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Teachers and staff nominate students to receive the award. One boy and one girl from each grade level are chosen each month.
The December students of the month at USMS were Kolin Johnson, Alex Thiel, Cory Frey, Beth Ogden, Aubry Wentling and Rowan Ritchey.

Mohawk School announces students of the month

SYCAMORE - Mohawk School recently announced its students of the month for December. These students were selected based on the following criteria: showing measurable improvement in academics; showing good citizenship and good conduct; being helpful and thoughtful toward others; showing a conscientious attitude toward school; showing personal improvements; and being involved in school and community activities.
The award is open to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Teachers and staff nominate one student per month in each class.
The kindergarten students of the month were Sarah Pennington, Bailey Morgan, Kaleb Leeth and Cameron Zorn.
First grade students of the month were Blaine Thom, Ericka Hummel, Alex Lersch, Theresa Zeigler and Tanna Cross.
Students of the month in the second grade were Isaiah Aurand, Alex Kelbley, Elise Gucker and Angela Daniel.
Third grade students of the month were Addie Thiery, Mia Gobs and Katie Vogel.
Fourth grade students of the month were Logan Reinhart, Brittany Boyd, Hannah Vogel and Hannah Kieffer.
Students of the month for the fifth grade were Mercedees Cook, Harley Sloan, Richard Moore and Harley Cross.
Sixth grade students of the month were Madison Grant-Bowsher, Clara Adelsperger and Bryan Schube.
Junior high and high school students of the month were Patricia Concepcion, seventh grade; Levi Edgington, eighth grade; Andrew Trusty, ninth grade; Jacqueline Wise, 10th grade; Annette Daniel, 11th grade; and Connor Jump, 12th grade.

Mall Walk 2008 being held Feb. 19

MARION - Marion General Hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is sponsoring Mall Walk 2008, an annual event that celebrates National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, which is Feb. 10-16, as well as National Heart Month.
Slated for Feb. 9 at Southland Mall, the one-mile walk is done around the inside of the mall.
Registration for the walk begins at 8 a.m. Feb. 9, with step-off at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration can be done by going to the Cardiac Rehab Center at Marion Area Health Center before Feb. 9. People are advised to enter at door 7 in the back of the building.
The first 100 to pre-register will receive a free T-shirt.
There is no minimum distance required to join the walk.
