Man charged with attempted murder, abduction, other charges in common pleas court

A former Carey man currently incarcerated at Correctional Reception Center in Orient plead not guilty to charges on two separate indictments Wednesday morning in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court.
Raymond Arnold Longworth, 61, plead not guilty to the charges on the first indictment, attempted murder, a felony of the first degree; abduction and attempted felonious assault, felonies of the third degree; and felonious assault, a felony of the second degree. He also plead not guilty to two counts of failure to give notice of change of address as a sexual offender, felonies of the third degree, which were included on a second indictment.
Longworth appeared with attorney Todd Workman before Judge Kathleen Aubry to plea in the case.

Blue Devils dominate Hornets
RAWSON — Four wrestlers earned pinfall victories for Carey as the Blue Devils dominated a non-conference dual meet against Cory-Rawson with a 54-27 wrestling win Wednesday night.
Brandon Orians (140), Jeff Hunter (171), Cory Harrold (189) and heavyweight Kyle Niederkohr each won their matches by a pin, with Harrold scoring the quickest victory in 56 seconds against the Hornets' Mitch Cramer.
Logan Niese (145), Ryan Falk (152) and Troy Caskie (160) posted consecutive pins for Cory-Rawson, but the Hornets were unable to overcome five forfeits.
