The 2007 year comes to a close today but is awash in memories.
Disasters topped the list from the flood waters in August to a fatal June fire in Carey to the sudden death of U.S. Rep. Paul Gillmor.

New leader
Upper Sandusky Municipal Court Judge Thomas Osborn (left) shakes hands with Mayor Scott Washburn this morning after Washburn was sworn in as the new mayor of Upper Sandusky. Washburn will take over duties in his first meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. when Upper Sandusky City Council meets for its annual organizational meeting.

Sharing the credit
Jeff Hohman recently was honored with the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts Area No. 1 outstanding employee award at a recent meeting of 21 northwest Ohio conservation districts for helping implement the CREP filter strip program and working on other projects with the Wyandot County Soil and Water Conservation District.
