The regular meeting of the Sycamore Village Council saw the swearing in of a familiar face and a new face Tuesday night in councilmen Dewayne Morrison and Matt Boucher.
The two were elected to two-year terms in the November election and Morrison continued on council after filling a seat left open after Gene Wyss stepped down early last year.
Village solicitor Jim Gucker also swore in Mayor Mike Tschanen for a second term.
Council members also volunteered for various committees and more Sycamore residents are needed to volunteer.
Morrison joined council members Dawn Needles, Ralph Decker and Vicki Weininger, Tschanen, clerk-treasurer Chris Moler, police chief Jim Brezina and village administrator Chuck Clark on the finance committee.

Kirby Council not giving up on matter of signage
By LAUREN SCHLOSSER
Staff writer
KIRBY - Kirby Village Council is renewing its attempts to have a sign put in informing drivers on U.S. 30 how to get to Kirby.
Due to a change in staff at the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, it could be possible, Mayor Tim Stansbery said.
He has been in contact with Tim Burkepile, deputy director of ODOT District 1, who said he will talk to ODOT's signage committee about the possibility.
Stansbery said there will be meetings in Lima in May that he will be attending.
He also plans to contact Wyandot County Commissioner Mike Wheeler and Rep. Jim Jordan, (R-Urbana) among other people, about the matter.
Councilman Scott Thiel expressed his thoughts on the issue, stating that the lack of access to U.S. 30 is bad for the businesses in the village and also dangerous.

Bucyrus misfires as Upper rolls to win

As its 3-point shooting has gone, so has the Bucyrus girls basketball team.
Most of the time, the shots from beyond the arc have fallen, but on Tuesday night, the Redmen made only 3 of 29 3-pointers while losing to Upper Sandusky, 68-53.
Most of those attempts came in the first half when Bucyrus was 2 of 18 from 3-point range, helping the Rams to build a 38-20 halftime advantage.
"Bucyrus is one of those teams that they kind of live and die by the 3, and they shoot it well, but sometimes you have a night where it doesn't happen for you," Upper Sandusky coach Andra Bell said.
Windau's 27 leads Carey to win
RIDGEDALE - Karrah Windau scorched the nets for a game-high 27 points, as Carey captured a 70-34 victory against Ridgedale in non-conference girls basketball play Tuesday evening.
Windau was one of two players to finish in double digits for the Blue Devils (10-2), as Ashley Baker chipped in 17 points and six steals.
Carey jumped ahead early with a 21-point first quarter, and took a 35-22 advantage into halftime. In the second half, the Blue Devils clamped down defensively, holding Ridgedale (4-7) to single digits while scoring 20 points in the third and 15 points in the fourth to secure the win.
