Wyandot County Historical Society holding annual membership drive

The Wyandot County Historical Society is holding its annual membership drive for renewing or purchasing new memberships with the WCHS.
Since 1929, the WCHS has been a resource for visiting researchers as well as county residents and school children.
Annual patron memberships are opportunities for individuals and businesses to support the Society and to help maintain the highest preservation standards for the Society's collections and facilities, the Wyandot County Museum and the McCutchen Overland Inn.
The Wyandot County Museum receives more than 1,000 visitors annually who have the opportunity to view photographs, textiles, documents, tools and furniture that relate to the history of the county. Patron funds allow the historical society to properly preserve and exhibit the artifacts that have been entrusted to its care.
During the past year, the WCHS accomplished a number of goals. The restoration of the Overland Inn Museum has been completed, with the grand reopening attracting more than 500 visitors. It designed and is in the stages of implementing a new history-interactive Web site for the public. It held a strategic planning session with board members and museum staff to plan and provide for the future of the WCHS. The society's staff also worked with teachers in the local schools to develop specialized history programs to meet the needs of each specific class. It continued to provide educational opportunities for the county's children through volunteering. It also is in the process of revamping the Wyandot County Junior Historical Society.
Patron memberships can be purchased on several levels. The following are the levels and prices of membership: basic, $10; supporting, $25; sustaining, $50; bronze, $100; silver, $250 or more; gold, $500 and more.
Payments may be sent to the Wyandot County Historical Society, PO Box 372, Upper Sandusky OH 43351. Include a name, company if applicable and address.
