VAN BUREN — Van Buren took control in the girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association standings with a 1-0 victory against Riverdale on Wednesday.
Kayla Sonnenberg scored the only goal on an assist from Rachel Wymer.
The Black Knights (5-3, 3-0 NCOSA) and Bluffton (1-0 NCOSA) are the only unbeaten teams in the league.
Van Buren outshot Riverdale, 6-3.
Bre Parish had five saves for the Falcons (3-2-2, 1-1-1 NCOSA). Kristin Connor had three for the Black Knights.
Riverdale plays at 7 p.m. Saturdy at Kenton.
