Upper’s Miller finishes 2nd at Elks Invite

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky’s Garrett Miller took second overall in the Elks Invitational on Saturday at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Bucyrus.
Miller finished in 17:11.01. Elyria Catholic’s Jake Amato was the winner in 17:04.09.
As a team, the Rams were 11th with 303 points. Wynford was sixth with 195 points. Willard was the boys winner with 75 points.
Pleasant took the top spot in the girls race with 79 points. Wynford was 10th with 262 points and Upper Sandusky was 12th with 294 points.
Not far behind Miller was his teammate, Dominic Solis, who placed sixth in 17:38.05. The Rams’ Andre Meyers was 64th in 19:41.03.
MJ Quaintance paced Wynford’s boys with 16th-place finish in 18:16.40. Jordy Kiess was one spot behind, placing 17th in 18:20.07. Mark Pfeifer took 41st place in 19:06.15 and Dustin Shupp was 44th in 19:10.38.
Wynford’s Ellie Richmond had the top local girls finish of 15th place in 21:57.96. Rachel Redolf took 54th place in 24:00.28 and Sara Hoffman was 58th in 24:23.20.
Zoe Garber led Upper Sandusky’s girls with a 46th-place finish in 23:47.46. Kirsten Gardner was 49th in 23:51.66, while Brianna Franklin took 67th place in 24:59.67.
In the junior high boys race, Wynford’s Ethan Stuckey was sixth in 12:38.90 and Upper Sandusky’s Nathan Morrison was eighth in 12:54.61.
The Rams’ Tiffani Watkins led all area junior high girls with a 15th-place finish in 15:07.60.
Both Wynford and Upper Sandusky are back in action at 4:30 p.m. today in the Wynford Invitational.
