BUCYRUS — In an extremely competitive North Central Conference tri-meet, Upper Sandusky’s boys tied Ontario for first place, while the Rams girls edged Wynford for the top spot Tuesday at Wynford.
Upper Sandusky and Ontario both finished with 63 points, while Wynford’s boys had 40 points. The Rams topped the Royals, 63.5-58, for the girls victory, with the Warriors close behind with 56.5 points.
Garrett Miller led the Rams boys with a pair of individual first-place finishes, winning the 1600 run in 5:02.5 and the 3200 run in 11:07.1.
Corey Frey took the top spot in the 400 dash in 55.0 and Neil Thomas won the 300 hurdles in 43.8. Evan Logsdon was the high jump winner, clearing 5-10.
The Rams also won a pair of relays, with Derrick Skillman, Dylan Robertson, Logsdon and Kohl Johnson winning the 400 relay in 46.3 and Frey, Nick Reid, Dorian Mathews and Thomas winning the 1600 relay in 3:51.7.

Nate Brown paced the Royals, winning the 100 dash in 11.8, the 200 dash in 23.6 and the long jump with a leap of 19-5.5.
Levi Schafer had Wynford’s only other individual first-place finish, winning the pole vault at 12-0. The Royals’ 3200 team of M.J. Quaintance, T.J. Mohr, Jordan Kiess and Ben Stuckey also was a winner in 8:58.
Tayler Daughenbaugh won two individual events for Upper Sandusky’s girls, the 100 dash in 13.6 and the long jump at 15-8.75.
Halee Stief captured the 3200 run championship in 13:23, while Anna Massara cleared 8-6 to win the pole vault.
The Rams also took a victory in the 400 relay, with Daughenbaugh, Logan Kinley, Marissa Linhart and Shiloh Powers finishing in 54.44.
Corrie Ruffener posted three victories for Wynford, completing the 200 dash in 27.8, the 100 hurdles in 15.7 and the 300 hurdles in 48.6.

Lydie Miller cleared 5-2 to take the high jump victory for the Royals, who also won the 800 relay. Brooke Miller, Kristin Schiefer, Amber Gottfried and Ruffener won in 1:55.2.
Upper Sandusky competes in the Galion Kiwanis Invitational at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Heise Park, while Wynford returns to action at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Riverdale Relays.
