Upper junior high girls take 1st place

The Upper Sandusky girls junior high track and field team took first place in a quad-meet Monday with Ontario, Kenton and Wynford.
The Rams won the girls meet with 67 points, beating out Ontario (54) and Kenton (53). Ontario won the boys meet, 83-66, over Upper Sandusky.
Kenton placed third (44.5).
The Rams girls had three individual first-place finishes with Amber Hildebrand in the 100 dash (14.18), Samantha Pryor in the high jump (4-4) and Carson Klingler in the long jump (13-8.75).
Kristen Gardener placed second in the 1600 run (6:44), while Makenna Searls was runner-up in the 100 hurdles (18.09). Betsy Young was second in the discus with a throw of 72-3.
The Upper Sandusky 400 relay team of Hildebrand, Trudy Daughenbaugh, Sierra Carey and Kamryn Huston placed second with a time of 57.46, while the 800 relay team of Grace Miller, Logan Dible, Maddy Stansbery and Ally Alspach was second with a time of 2:04.75.
The Rams boys 800 relay team of Brandon Miller, Mitchel Fogle, Matt Luikart and Cory Miller set a new school record with a first-place time of 1:46.75.
Cory Miller had the lone individual first-place finish in the high jump (5-1) and was runner-up in the long jump (15-2.5). Other second-place finishes were had by Fogle in the 200 dash (27.00), Austin Myers in the 1600 run (5:24) and Shane Pack in the discus (118-5).
Upper Sandusky was runner-up in the 1600 relay with a time of 4:12.2.
Wynford was led by Dalton Benson, who placed second in the 400 dash with a time of 1:03.8.
