Softball team to hold tryouts

MARION — The Central Ohio Knockouts, a sister organization of the Marion Merchants baseball club, formally known as Marion Merchants softball, has grown over the years and is expanding to any girls who want to play travel ball across the state, not just locally.
The Knockouts will try to field teams for the 2013 season in the following age groups based on level of interest ranging from 10-and-younger to 18-and-younger. Teams will play a competitive schedule consisting of six tournaments and some teams will play in a weekly league and fall ball on Sundays.

Tryouts will be held Aug. 18-19 at RVBBFY Complex, 2250 Harding Highway E., Marion. Rain dates are Aug. 25-26. Players should come 15 minutes early to register. Tryouts are 10 and younger, 8:30-10 a.m.; 11 and younger and 12 and younger, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 13 and younger and 14 and younger, 12-2 p.m.; 15 and younger and 16 and younger, 2-4 p.m.; and 18 and younger, 4-6 p.m.
