Shawnee blanks Upper, 4-0

Off balance

Upper Sandusky’s Justin Stoneburner (13) gets knocked to the ground while going after a loose ball Saturday. Shawnee scored three goals in the first 20 minutes and beat Upper Sandusky, 4-0.

Lima Shawnee scored three times in the first 20 minutes and took a 4-0 boys soccer victory against Upper Sandusky on Saturday.
Trey Brock put Shawnee on top on an assist from Cory Wilder with 29:24 remaining. Six minutes later, Matt High scored. In the 20th minute, Austin Davis made it a 3-0 match.
Brock scored the final goal with 8:47 remaining in the match.
Shawnee had 15 shots on goal to only five for Upper Sandusky (6-3). The Rams’ William Amert stopped nine shots, while Troy Brinkman made three saves for Shawnee (6-1).
Shawnee also won the junior varsity match, 7-0.
Upper Sandusky plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at Old Fort.
