Red Devils defeat Warriors

ARLINGTON — Arlington pulled away from Mohawk in the second half for a 60-38 non-conference girls basketball victory Saturday.
The Red Devils (9-2) led 13-12 after one quarter and 26-20 at halftime but extended their advantage to 43-30 after three quarters and held a 17-8 edge in the fourth quarter.
Julie Adelsperger hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors (6-6). Megan Cleveland added 12 points.
Dani Heaster paced Arlington with 17 points, six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Haley Dillon and Sierra Nichols added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Warriors were 15 of 40 (37.5 percent) from the field, including 4 of 9 from long range, and 4 of 6 at the foul line. The Red Devils connected on 23 of 57 (40.4 percent) shots, despite going just 2 of 17 from beyond the arc. They were 12 of 17 at the foul line.
Mohawk plays at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Riverdale.
