Mohawk girls soccer wins 1st-ever match

FINDLAY — The Mohawk girls soccer team was victorious in its first-ever game in school history, downing Liberty-Benton, 3-1, on Tuesday.
Until this year, the Warriors were a co-ed team that played against boys teams.
Kim Danner, Cambria Kohlenberg and Sarah Runion each scored goals for the Warriors (1-0). Kohlenberg assisted on the other two goals, while Danner picked up an assist on the goal by Kohlenberg.
Mohawk’s Liz Runion stopped four of five shots that came her way in goal. The Warriors also put five shots on goal.
Next up for Mohawk is a trip to Riverdale for a match at 5 p.m. Thursday.
