Mohawk baseball also earns No. 2 seed

Mohawk earned a No. 2 seed and a bye in the sectional baseball draws held Sunday.
The Warriors (7-7) play the winner of New Riegel (6-11) and Riverdale (6-13), who play at 2 p.m. Saturday in Division IV action at New Riegel. The sectional final game against Mohawk is set for 5 p.m. May 9.
On the other side of the bracket, Arcadia (5-10) faces Fostoria St. Wendelin (1-15) at 12 p.m. Saturday. That winner takes on No. 1 seed McComb (9-9) at 5 p.m. May 8.
The sectional winners advance to district play May 16 at The Marathon Diamonds in Findlay.
In Division III action at Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky (7-9) goes up against No. 2 seed Galion (12-4) in a sectional semifinal game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Wynford (9-10) takes on Ashland Crestview (10-9) at 11 a.m. Saturday. The winners of those two games meet at 5 p.m. May 9.
The other side of the bracket features Carey (5-11) taking on Bucyrus (4-14) at 5 p.m. May 8. That winner has the challenge of No. 1 seed and state-ranked No. 1 Ontario (19-0) at 5 p.m. May 10.
District play begins May 17 at Heidelberg University.
