Miller, Daniel post top times in Tiffin

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky’s Garrett Miller and Mohawk’s Julia Daniel posted the top times of all area runners Saturday in the Tiffin Carnival.
Miller was 36th in the boys Division II race, finishing in a time of 17:25.61. Daniel placed 25th in the Division III girls race in 20:27.15.
Upper Sandusky’s boys placed 38th as a team. Dominic Solis cracked the top 100 with a 99th-place finish in 18:19.55. Andre Myers was 173rd in 19:20.71.
Brayden Leist had the highest place, taking 12th in the Division III-B boys race, helping Carey to a fourth-place finish among 31 teams. Ben Kromer was 14th in 18:22.10 and Zach Logsdon was 20th in 18:27.78.
In the same race, Wynford’s MJ Quaintance took 15th in 18:22.32. Jordy Kiess placed 26th in 18:37.07 and Mark Pfeifer broke the 19-minute mark with a 41st-place finish in 18:58.99.
Alex Hoerig paced Mohawk with a 31st-place finish in 18:48.32. Mitch Brown was 39th in 18:58.69 and Jarred Shellhouse was one spot behind in 18:58.78.
Ty Miller had Riverdale’s top finish, placing 121st in 20:31.51.
After Daniel, Carey’s Alivia Stephan had the top area girls time. She was 23rd in the Division II-B race in 21:49.59. Jaclyn Troiano placed 45th in 22:24.77, Amber Spurlock took 75th in 22:59.03 and Sara Walter was 83rd in 23:06.10.
Zoe Garber paced Upper Sandusky in the Division II-B race in 23:27.79. Kirsten Gardner placed 107th in 23:30.64 and Kaitlyn Rowe broke 25 minutes by placing 144th in 24:44.22.
In the Division III race, Kayla Risner was 165th for Mohawk in 23:22.59.
Ellie Richmond led Wynford by finishing in 22:23.36, good for 112th place. Sara Hoffman was 177th in 23:48.20 and Rachel Redolf was two spots behind with a time of 23:52.41.
Anna Penwell had the top finish for Riverdale, taking 121st place in 22:33.21.
In junior high competition, Wynford’s Ethan Stuckey had the top area time of 12:24.74, good for third place in the open race.
Nathan Morrison had Upper Sandusky’s top time of 13:24.29, good for 120th place in the Division I-II race. Daniel Patton was 17th in the Division III race for Carey in 12:28.26 and Austin Eaton placed 55th for Mohawk in the open race with a time of 13:56.95.
Mohawk’s girls were fourth in the Division III standings, led by Shauna Leeth’s 11th-place finish in 13:24.84.
In the open race, Carey’s Destiny Young was sixth in 14:38.31, Wynford’s Shay Miller was 11th in 14:46.31 and Upper Sandusky’s Mackenzie Myers was 12th in 14:59.31.
Upper Sandusky and Wynford compete in the Lucas Invitational at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mohawk’s next event is the Galion Festival at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ammans’ Reservoir. Carey and Riverdale race in the Cline Invitational hosted by Lakota at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
