FOSTORIA — Evan Logsdon and Tayler Daughenbaugh each placed second in the Division II track and field meet at Fostoria on Friday to move on to regional competition.
The Rams compete at the Lexington regional, which begins at 4 p.m. Thursday. Finals will resume at 11:30 a.m. next Saturday.
Logsdon cleared 6-2 in the high jump, while Daughenbaugh leaped 16-0.75 to finish runner-up in long jump competition.
Clyde won the boys’ meet with 81.5 points, while Van Wert was second with 79. The Rams finished in 16th with 14 points. Celina took the girls’ meet with 155 points and Liberty-Benton was second with 134.5 points. Upper Sandusky finished in 11th with 18 points.
Also scoring points for the Rams were Brennan Miller and Garrett Miller. Brennan just missed advancing to regionals as he placed fifth in the high jump (6-0) and also finished eighth in long jump (18-11.0). Garrett scored points by placing eighth in the 1600 run (4:52.90) and just missed placing in the 3200 run (10:27.31) as he finished ninth.
Daughenbaugh also scored points for the Rams in the 100 and 200 dashes. She finished seventh in both events with times of 13.77 and 28.07, respectively. Marissa Linhart missed a repeat trip to regionals in the 100 hurdles as she placed sixth (16.82). Mallory Weininger also scored for Upper Sandusky in the high jump (4-10) as she was sixth.
In pole vault action, Anna Massara just missed scoring points as she finished ninth (8-6). Kayla Counts placed 10th in the discus with a throw of 101-0.
