Falcons pound out 5 doubles among 13 hits in 14-3 victory

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale baseball team pounded 14 hits, including doubles by five different players, rolling to a 14-3 victory against Lucas on Monday.
The Falcons (7-16, 2-9 North Central Conference) scored in every inning, getting one run in the first, four in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to end the game. The Cubs (1-17, 0-12 NCC) scored once each in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
Evan Wolfe, Brett Parish, Paul Frey and Grant Loveridge all had a double among two hits, while Josh Bushong also added a double. Dillon Farrow singled and drove in three runs, while Caleb Shultis, Tyler Miller and Zach Bowman also added singles.
Shultis (2-4) picked up the win as Lucas managed three runs on six hits.
Christopher Boyd had two singles, while Thomas Schell tripled to lead the Cubs at the plate.
Jake Gerich (0-3) took the loss.
Riverdale hosts Bucyrus at 4:30 p.m. today.
