Carey teams finish 3rd

BETTSVILLE — Carey’s boys and girls both finished third in the Myron Cline Invitational, hosted by Lakota, on Saturday at H.P. Eels Park in Bettsville.
Sandusky St. Mary won the boys title with 64 points. Hopewell-Loudon was second with 77 and Carey finished with 92 points.
Hopewell-Loudon topped Toledo Christian for the girls championship, 65-79, with Carey placing third with 105 points.
Ben Kromer led Carey’s boys with a ninth-place finish in 17:23.01. Brayden Leist placed 11th in 17:31.92, Zach Logsdon was 13th in 17:34.25 and Michael Patton was 22nd in 17:58.60.
Tyler Miller paced Riverdale with a 44th-place finish in 19:00.3. Caleb Hicks was 48th in 19:02.19.
In the girls race, Sarah Walter led Carey with a 12th-place finish in 21:18.64. Jaclyn Troiano was 16th in 21:24.43 and Alivia Stephan placed 19th in 21:29.47.
Aubreah Manns came in ninth place in the girls race in 21:11.90, while Anna Penwell was 11th in 21:13.61.
Both Riverdale and Carey compete in the Riverdale Invitational at 5 p.m. Thursday.
