CAREY — Carey’s freshmen and senior led the way in an 10-1 victory Friday against Arcadia.
Senior Dillon Sammons was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while freshman Brady Mullholand went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Satchel Strahm, a freshman, was 1 for 3 with two runs scored an and RBI and went the distance, giving up just five hits and one walk with two strikeouts.
“He did a good job tonight, went all seven innings, kept the ball down, and we got nine groundball outs of the 21,” Carey coach Joey Roark said.

In a pinch

Carey pinch-hitter Jacob Montz was inserted in the sixth inning as a pinch hitter and came through with a base knock before coming around to score.

The Blue Devils (8-14) fell behind 1-0 in the first inning, but scored twice in the third inning, three times in the fourth inning and five times in the sixth inning.
Alex Naeyaert was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Corbin Blair had three hits in four at-bats with a run scored and two RBIs.
Carey hosts Fremont St. Joseph at 5 p.m. Tuesday.s
