BUCYRUS — Beau Brown hit a go-ahead two-run home run with no outs in the top of the sixth inning to lead Upper Sandusky to its second straight victory against Wynford, 5-4, on Friday, in the Rams’ season finale.
Brown’s shot over the left field fence followed a single by Garrett Huston. Cameron Binau reached on an error after the home run and scored on a Justin Mattix two-out single to put the Rams up 5-3.
Wynford made it interesting in the bottom of the seventh when Chase Lantz walked and scored on an Adam Hartz double with one out. But Upper Sandusky pitcher Binau got a pair of strikeouts with a walk in between to close out the complete game victory.
Upper Sandusky’s Garrett Huston strokes a single in front of Wynford catcher Brock Williamson on Friday. Huston’s single was followed by a home run by Beau Brown that helped the Rams take a 5-4 victory.
Mason Davis doubled and scored to give the Royals a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Rams went on top with two in the top of the third. Adam Duress and Daniel Newell had consecutive singles to start the inning and they came around to score in a Mattix single and an Alec Oney fielder’s choice.
Davis and Hartz scored runs in the third inning tu put Wynford back on top, 3-2, with Teran Stuckman driving in both runs with a single after Hartz walked.
Brendan Bishop suffered the loss for the Royals.
Wynford closes out its regular season with a home game at 11 a.m. today against Buckeye Central.
