Binau keys 2-1 Upper Sandusky win

NORTH ROBINSON — Cameron Binau singled in the winning run and picked up his first pitching win as the Upper Sandusky baseball team topped Colonel Crawford, 2-1, on Thursday.
Binau (1-3) gave up just one run on six hits and provided the offense he needed with one of only three Rams hits. After Garrett Huston made it all the way to third base on an errant throw from the pitcher, Binau came through with single to score the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the seventh inning.
Alec Oney and Beau Brown had the only other hits for the Rams (8-11, 6-5 North Central Conference).
The bad throw was about the only mistake Colonel Crawford pitcher Austin Adams (1-5) made. Offensively, he had a double and a single. Mitch Cook also doubled for the Eagles (10-12, 5-6 NCC).
The Colonel Crawford loss wraps up the North Central Conference Silver Division championship for Buckeye Central (20-5, 9-2 NCC).
In junior varsity action, Upper Sandusky was a 14-3 winner. Sam Plott had a double among four hits and Jeffery Davis finished with three singles and five RBIs.
Upper Sandusky’s varsity has today off to prepare for its Division III sectional semifinal game at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday against Galion at Bucyrus.
