Angeline competes in area games

LEXINGTON — The Angeline Indians recently completed at the Area 5 Special Olympic Spring Games at Lexington High School and had 14 first-place finishes.
In the lone team event, the Wyandot No. 1 bocce team defeated the Wyandot No. 2 team for first place. Members of No. 1 were P.J. Swecker, Lisa Brown, Herman Prince and Chuck Brickner, while members of the No. 2 team were Sarah Mills, Elaine Snyder, Nicole Gault and Tiffany Goins.
Molly Danner and Zackary Stoll each had a first-place finish in the 8-11 age bracket. Danner won the 50 dash (12.31) and Stoll won the mini-javelin (12.83).
Tyler Eley picked up a pair of top finishes in the 12-15 age bracket as he won the 100 dash (15.37) and mini-javelin (26.19).
Ashley Beamer had a pair of first-place results as she won the 30 and 50 motorized wheelchair slaloms with times of 15.82 and 25.00. Cy Wright added a top finish in the 50 dash (10.65), while Connor Swartz won the 400 dash (1:19.79). Jacob Smith tied for first place in the standing long jump as he went 1.98 meters.
Alex Howard was the lone Angeline champion in the 22-29 age bracket as he won the 50 dash with a sprint of 13.84.
Ben Frey and Vicky Reel won the boys and girls mini-javelin titles with throws of 22.43 and 9.05.
The Indians will compete June 22-24 in the Summer Games at the Jesse Owens Track and Field Complex in Columbus.
