Mohawk’s Dani Tyree slides into third base to complete her triple Wednesday against Old Fort. She also had a home run and scored two runs in a 17-0 victory.
SYCAMORE — Kasey Adelsperger homered twice and drove in seven runs at the plate while striking out 11 in five innings in the pitcher’s circle as the Mohawk softball team cruised to a 17-0 Midland Athletic League victory against Old Fort on Wednesday.
Adelsperger also had two singles to complete a 4-for-4 day. She allowed just one hit and one walk to the Stockaders.
Dani Tyree also homered, tripled and scored two runs, while Taylor McClain finished with two hits and three runs scored. Sarah Runion, Ashley Cooper, Molli Cartwright and Clara Adelsperger each scored twice.
Mohawk (13-5, 6-1 MAL) scored four times each in the first and second innings and eight times in the third inning. It added one more run in the fourth.
Kathryn Reinhart suffered the loss for Old Fort (1-15, 1-8 MAL). Kelly Miller had the team’s only hit.
The Warriors’ victory sets up a showdown with first-place Lakota (14-5, 8-0 MAL) at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Sycamore.
