A Carey school bus driver reported the afternoon of Dec. 11 someone had passed his bus while he was stopped with his flashers on to pick up children. Contact was made with the suspect, who advised he had not passed a stopped school bus. A witness also denied the allegation.
Devin G. Gottfried, Nevada, was arrested the evening of Dec. 11 in the village of Nevada on a bench warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court for failure to pay fines and costs on an original charge of driving under suspension. He was transported to the Wyandot County Jail.
Jamie L. Penwell, Upper Sandusky, was arrested early the morning of Dec. 12 for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs (Vicodin) during a traffic stop on U.S. 23 in Crane Township.
A rural Upper Sandusky man reported the morning of Dec. 12 someone had dumped trash in the 12000 block of CH 49, west of TH 103 in Salem Township. Contact could not be made with the suspect.
Nicholas B. Dewitt, Marion, was transported to Correctional Reception Center, Orient, the morning of Dec. 12 to begin a prison sentence for theft, a fifth-degree felony.
David E. Oates, Cleveland, Tenn., was transported to Correctional Reception Center, Orient, the morning of Dec. 12 to begin a prison sentence for identity fraud, a fifth-degree felony.
A resident of the 6500 block of Crawford-Wyandot County Line Road, Sycamore, reported the morning of Dec. 12 someone had been driving through his field overnight at the corner of CH 148 and TH 14 in Sycamore Township.
An employee of the Department of Job and Family Services reported the afternoon of Dec. 12 he needed assistance with a fraud investigation.
Jacob A. Walton, Upper Sandusky, was cited for failure to control the afternoon of Dec. 12 after a one-vehicle accident on CH 134, north of CH 330 in Eden Township. Walton was traveling southbound on CH 134 when he lost control of the 1994 Dodge Ram truck he was driving, went off the right side of the roadway and struck a field drive culvert and a North Central Electric Cooperative utility pole before coming to rest south of the pole. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed.
Luciano Ramos-Verdugo, Kenton, was served a warrant on an indictment the afternoon of Dec. 12 at the Wyandot County Jail.
