Matt Missey, of Huron, uses a chainsaw to carve a Native American holding a peace pipe out of an Eastern white pine tree located at the main entrance to Harrison Smith Park, Upper Sandusky, on Wednesday afternoon. The tree was damaged in a severe storm June 29 and the Upper Sandusky Park Board voted to hire Missey to carve the piece for $1,400. Missey said the project takes 10 hours to complete.
