CAREY — The Carey Exempted Village School District held a special board meeting Monday night in regards to board member Brian Will, who is resigning from his duties.
“We really appreciate the effort Brian has done, but with the situation of jobs, it made it difficult for him to fulfill his duties,” Superintendent Mark Vehre said.
Will took a job in January and has been unable to attend meetings on a regular basis.
“He’s in Indiana and it’s quite a distance,” Vehre said. “He’s down in the southwestern portion. He took the job, but he wanted to stay here if he could find another job here. His heart was really in this and the community, so it was a very difficult decision.”
The board is now looking for a replacement for Will and is asking for interested people to submit a letter of interest and a resume.
“We want the letters of interest by April 27 and then hopefully have the person in place by May 20,” Vehre said.
