Man dies in reservoir boating accident

A Marion man died Wednesday when his boat capsized at the Upper Sandusky reservoir.
According to an Upper Sandusky Police Department news release, a 911 call came in at 6:36 p.m. saying there possibly were two people in the water. USPD officers jumped in the water and pulled out 66-year-old Raymond E. Jordan, of Marion. Jordan was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Through further investigation by the USPD and the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, authorities determined that Jordan was the only person in the boat at the time of the accident.
The Upper Sandusky Fire Department, Wyandot East Fire Department and the Ohio Division of Watercraft also assisted in the investigation and recovery.
