162nd Wyandot County Fair begins

Opening day

Upper Sandusky resident Catherine Gillen (right) purchases the first ticket for the 162nd Wyandot County Fair as the gates open at 8 o’clock this morning. Fair volunteer Connie Neal, also of Upper Sandusky, is making the sale. The fair runs through Sunday in Upper Sandusky.

Veterans’ Day — All Vets admitted free today only with proof of service.
FFA and 4-H gardening & crop judging, FFA bldg., 5-6:30 p.m.
Open class rabbit show, arena, 5 p.m.
Birds of prey, conservation bldg., 4-8 p.m.
Baked goods auction, Masters’ Bldg., 4 p.m.
Junior Fair king and queen pageant, Masters’ Bldg., 5:30 p.m.
Parade, 6:30 p.m.
Upper Galaxy Twillers, outside Masters’ Bldg., after parade.
County high school band show, grandstand, 7:30 p.m.
Jimmy’s Jukebox and Karaoke, Masters’ Bldg., 7 p.m.
Junior market hog judging and showmanship, arena, with junior swine production contest results at 8:30 a.m.
Open horse and pony judging, horse arena, 9 a.m.
Open flower judging, pavilion bldg., 9:30 a.m.
Open market lamb show with open and junior breeding sheep immediately following, 2 p.m.
Flu shot clinic, Masters’ Bldg., 3-6 p.m.
Birds of prey., conservation bldg., 4-8 p.m.
Junior rabbit judging, arena,    4:30 p.m.
Pari-mutuel harness racing (super stakes), grandstand, 5 p.m.
Junior fair market lamb judging and showmanship, arena,    6 p.m.
