TIFFIN — Shirley M. Heck, of Tiffin, died suddenly Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. She was 79.
Born Nov. 25, 1932, in Norfolk, Va., she was a daughter of George and Ethel Hughes. On July 28, 1951 in Hicksville, she married Norman L. Heck and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2011.
Survivors include two sons, Dallas (Sue) Heck, Tiffin; and Dennis (Deb Knowles) Heck, Versailles, Ky.; a brother, George (Alice) Hughes, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Charlotte Perkins, of Newport News, Va.; and Margarette Foster, Chesapeake, Va.; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild, Wyatt Heck.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and twin daughters, Donna Lu and Denise Lynn Heck.
Mrs. Heck graduated in 1950 from Carey High School. She worked as the Seneca County Clerk of Courts for more than 20 years and as a cashier at Kroger for more than 20 years. She also was a secretary at Memorial United Methodist Church, Carey.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, with the Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
