Robert Jones

CAREY — Robert V. Jones, formerly of Muncie, Ind., died Thursday morning, Aug. 16, 2012 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was 77.
Born July 28, 1935 in Muncie, he was a son of Floyd and Pearl (Aucker) Jones. He married Betty J. (Tackett) Jones and she survives after 13 years of marriage.
Mr. Jones also is survived by a son, Merle (Rhonda) Ogle, Muncie; two daughters, Cindy (Russell) Smith, Muncie; and Sandra (Gus) Beckley, Carey; three brothers, Gene (Jean Marie) Jones, Muncie; Rodney (Phyllis) Jones, Parker City, Ind.; and Bruce Jones, Gaston, Ind.; two sisters, Pat (Larry) Noble, Muncie; and Judy Myers, Albany; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Shirley J. (Ogle) Jones; and a grandson, Merle Ogle Jr.
Mr. Jones worked for both Essex and Budd Company in Carey as a supervisor.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m. today at Parson Mortuary, Muncie, with the Rev. Harold Goodpaster officiating. Burial followed at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie. Visitation was held Sunday at the mortuary and one hour prior to services today.
