CAREY — Richard A. Noon, 84, of Carey, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at his residence.

Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.

The funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Sharrett officiating.

Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316.

Born Oct. 22, 1933, in Carey, he was a son of the late Edward P. and Grace (Thiry) Noon.

He married Mary Lou Turnbell on Dec. 8, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2006.

Surviving are three sons, Jerry (Cecilia) Noon and Michael (Lisa) Noon, both of Carey, and Steve Noon, of Winthrop, Maine; two daughters, Carolyn (John Boes) Porter and Tammy (Jon) Updegraff, both of Carey; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas (Maxine) Noon, of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Noon; a sister, Patricia Coppler; and son in-law, Doug Porter.

A 1951 graduate of Carey High School, Richard retired as an electrician from General Dynamics in Lima.

Richard loved his annual fishing trips to Canada with his family and good friend, Larry Bare.

He kept busy gardening, feeding the squirrels and hanging out with the coffee crew at the Blue Room in Kirby.

He loved attending his grandchildren’s school events.
