CAREY — Peggy J. Plott of Carey died at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was 74.

Born Feb. 16, 1943 in Hillsdale, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Betty (Barnett) Cole.

She married Martin L. Plott on June 1, 1963 at Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, and he survives in Carey.

Mrs. Plott is survived by two children, Lori (Dennis) Derr and Dean (Kate) Plott, both of Carey; six grandchildren, Samantha (Kris) Gosche, Angela (Patrick) Simons and Evan, Abby, Lexi and Emersyn Plott; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Kristian Gosche and Mackenzie and Audrey Simons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Cole and infant brother Jimmy Cole; and a sister, Laura Cole.

Mrs. Plott moved to Carey when she was 14 to live with her aunt and uncle, Jim and Nellie Perna, whom she loved dearly.

She was a 1961 graduate of Carey High School.

She retired from Westinghouse/A.O. Smith, Upper Sandusky, after 35 years.

She enjoyed working at Kurtz Shoe Store, Carey, after retiring.

Mrs. Plott was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and being “MawMaw” to many other children in Carey.

She enjoyed playing cards at the Kurtz home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Vince Petersen, OFM Conv., officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
