Vernon Clinger
FOREST - Vernon E. Clinger died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Fox Run Manor, Findlay. He was 84.
Born March 2, 1924 in Jackson Township, he was a son of Harry and Rutha (Fink) Clinger. He married Blanche E. Wilson on Aug. 22, 1945 and she survives in Findlay.
Mr. Clinger also is survived by two sons, Ronald, Warsaw, Ind.; and Donald, Fairfield; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Elmer and Harry Jr., both of Forest; and Everett, Kenton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan; and a sister, Donna Kniesley.
Mr. Clinger was a retired farmer from Jackson Township in Hardin County.
He was a member of Blanchard River Church of Christ, near Dunkirk.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Clark-Shields Funeral Home, Forest, with the Rev. Steve Umphress officiating. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

| Treva Bash
FOREST - Treva B. Bash, of West Gage Street, Forest, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was 85.
Born Sept. 18, 1922 in Arlington, she was a daughter of Harvey and Leafie (Wheeler) Riegle. She married Clarence E. Bash on May 22, 1940 and he died Sept. 27, 2007.
Mrs. Bash is survived by two sons, Robert (Karen), Forest; and Gary, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Karen S. Bash, Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Barb Ellis, Kelly Martin, Mark Bash and Kim Frey; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald; two brothers, Lester and Eugene Riegle; and a sister, Mary Stone.
Mrs. Bash was a 1940 graduate of Forest High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at Brinkman’s Farm Cannery, Arlington.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Clark-Shields Funeral Home, Forest, with the Rev. Donald Clinger officiating. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery, Forest. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice in care of Clark-Shields Funeral Home, 301 S. Patterson St., Forest OH 45843.

 Edward Spicka
Edward "Ed" John Spicka, of Annhurst Street, Fairfax, Va., was called to his eternal home at 10:47 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Mount Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, Va., after a long and valiant struggle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and neuropathy. He was 76.
Born Aug. 2, 1931 in Cicero, Ill., he was a son of Jan and Rose (Fabianski) Spicka. He married Colleen R. Albert, a daughter of Homer and Lucille Albert of Cheverly, Md., on June 2, 1956 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, currently known as Capitol Hill Baptist Church, and she survives in Fairfax. The couple was united in marriage by the Clyde W. Taylor, executive director of the National Association of Evangelicals.
He also is survived by a brother-in-law, John R. Albert, and his wife, Leila Albert, of Las Vegas.
Mr. Spicka worked as a civil engineer for Fairfax County for 32 years. He and his wife had lived there for 38 years.
He was a gifted artist and musician and also enjoyed history, nature and travel.
Mr. Spicka was blessed with many friends who benefited from his wit and generosity.
After attending school in Chicago, he joined the United States Navy and served from 1950-54 during the Korean War with the Heavy Attack Squadron VC-7, aboard the USS Coral Sea in Port Lyautey, French Morocco, North Africa.
Mr. Spicka was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Bethesda, Md.
He also was a member of American Legion Post No. 225, Upper Sandusky.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery, Marseilles, where military graveside rites will be conducted by local veteran organizations. Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Mission Division of the Fourth Presbyterian Church or Marseilles United Methodist Church in care of Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

| Gaylon Rowe
Gaylon T. Rowe, of Ohio 53, Upper Sandusky, died at 4:24 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was 68.
Survivors omitted from the obituary in Tuesday’s newspaper were a son, Scott Dalton, Detroit; a daughter, Deanna Sue Davis, Marysville; and two stepgrandchildren, Jessica and Michael Davis.
