 Leroy Hessey
Leroy "Lee" D. Hessey, Upper Sandusky, died at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was 67.
Born Dec. 13, 1940 in Crawford County, he was a son of George and Edna (Bodey) Hessey. He married Camilla June Barker on June 12, 1964 in Crestline and she died Jan. 27, 2005.
Mr. Hessey is survived by two sons, Donald Lee Sr., Findlay; and Gary Hench, Shelby; two daughters, Pamela Hessey, Upper Sandusky; and Caren Smith, Lake Galion; six grandchildren, Donald Lee Jr., Lisa Hoy, Kimberly Benson, Mikel Straka, Jennifer Landon and Rodney Hadsell; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hank, Bucyrus; and Wayne, Eugene, Ore.; and a sister, Katherine Bowers, Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by six sisters, Edna Merl Foreman, Rena Hoffman, Leona Belle Hessey, Ruth Goff, Velma Fitzpatrick and Georgia Altenberg; and six brothers, James, Kenneth, Gerald, William, George and John.
Mr. Hessey worked at Continental Hose for 22 years. He also was employed at PPG, Timken and Findlay Industries.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a member of Community Christian Center, Upper Sandusky.
Mr. Hessey also was a member of AMVETS Post No. 777, Upper Sandusky.
He was very involved with youth baseball, coaching minor, little and pony league baseball teams. He also enjoyed woodworking, riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and watching sports, especially those of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will take place in Old Mission Cemetery, with full military graveside rites being conducted. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ronald Snyder
SYCAMORE - Ronald K. Snyder, 5482 W. CH 59, McCutchenville, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was 69.
Born March 7, 1939 in Seneca County, he was a son of Lester and Lucille (Wax) Snyder. He married Janice K. Tanner on Sept. 16, 1967 and she survives.
Mr. Snyder also is survived by two daughters, Jayme Inbody, Jenera; and Julie Ridenour, Rawson; and two grandchildren, Megan and Andrew Ridenour.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee.
Mr. Snyder was a 1957 graduate of McCutchenville High School. He was a repairman for Whirlpool Corporation, Findlay, for 30 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville.
Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves, having served for eight years before being honorably discharged in March 1965.
He also was a former firefighter for the Rawson Fire Department.
Mr. Snyder loved to travel, hunt and fish. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Ohio State University Buckeyes. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity UCC, McCutchenville, with the Rev. Roy Howell officiating. Burial will be in McCutchenville Cemetery, Seneca County, where Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250 will conduct a military graveside service. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville; Overland Inn, McCutchenville; or McCutchenville Community Center.

Virginia Hiett
FINDLAY - Virginia E. "Ginny" Hiett, rural Findlay, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at her residence. She was 85.
Born Aug. 25, 1922 in Forest, she was a daughter of John F. and Daisy E. (Fernbaugh) Buess. She married Robert M. Hiett on June 23, 1946 at her parents’ home in rural Forest and he survives.
Mrs. Hiett also is survived by a sister, E. Pauline (Corda) Spearman, Forest; five nieces, Sharlene Exline, Carol (Ed) Watson, Sandy (Tom) Lodge, Nancy (Robert) Bristoll and Debbie Spearman; and a nephew, Steve Buess.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Theal Mayberry; and a brother, Ferris Buess.
Mrs. Hiett was a 1939 graduate of Forest High School. She and her husband owned and operated Bob’s Floor Covering, retiring after 30 years.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.
She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Joanna Circle.
With a fondess for nature, Mrs. Hiett loved working in her garden and feeding and watching birds with her husband at their home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery, rural Forest. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

CAREY - Jeanette A. Coakley, 414 S. Patterson St., Carey, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was 82.
Arrangements are pending at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
