Raymond Shenefield

FINDLAY — Raymond E. Shenefield, Findlay, died at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at The Heritage, Findlay. He was 78.
Born Oct. 20, 1929 in Jackson, he was a son of Orley Ray and Laverna (Oiler) Shenefield. He married Marjorie M. Bassler in 1956 and she survives in Findlay.
Mr. Shenefield also is survived by two grandchildren, Amanda R. and Robert L.; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Rollo Kimmel; two sons, Raymond E. Jr. and Robin L.; and a brother, Ralph Foster.
Mr. Shenefield attended Carey High School. He started working at C&O Railroad in 1948 and retired after 38 years from CSX System at F Tower, Fostoria. He worked up and down the line at different times from the docks in Toledo to Fostoria, Carey, Upper Sandusky and Delaware.
He enjoyed vacationing in the Smokey Mountains and spending time with his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or religious services at the funeral home, in accordance with Mr. Shenefield’s wishes. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
