Josephine SmalleyCAREY - Josephine R. Smalley, formerly of Carey, died at 1:36 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at Birchaven Retirement Village, Findlay. She was 80.
Born May 4, 1927 in Carey, she was a daughter of John and Hazel (Burgett) Risner. She married Raymond L. Smalley on Sept. 16, 1950 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Upper Sandusky and he died March 7, 1997.
Mrs. Smalley is survived by a son, Bradford D. Smalley, Carey; three grandchildren, Michael Smalley, Renee Hess and Zachary Smalley; a sister, Madeline Sparks Bishop, Findlay; and two brothers, Paul F. Risner, Carey; and Earl Dean Risner, Carey.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Wade Smalley and two brothers, Melvin G. Risner and Donald E. Risner.
Mrs. Smalley was 1946 Carey High School graduate and attended sOhio Northern University.
Mrs. Smalley was a homemaker. She owned REB Manufacturing, Carey, with her husband. She retired from Westinghouse Corporation, Upper Sandusky, after 10 years.
She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, Carey.
Mrs. Smalley also loved her grandchildren and renovating old homes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lois Y. Gregory, Upper Sandusky, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community North Campus. She was 84.
