Joan Roush
SYCAMORE - Joan E. Roush, formerly of 6935 S. Ohio 100, Melmore, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin. She was 83.
Born Sept. 5, 1924 in Arcadia, she was a daughter of Richard and Leah (Bookmyer) Davis. She married Wilbur G. Roush on Feb. 24, 1954 and he died Aug. 13, 2003.
Mrs. Roush is survived by three sons, Timothy, Melmore; Dennis, Tiffin; and Ron, rural Republic; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Roush retired as a cafeteria manager of Melmore Elementary School after 20 years. She also had worked as a nurse’s aide at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
She was a member of Melmore United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a past superintendent of Sunday school.
She also was a member Tiffin Daughters of America and Bloom Community Grange, Bloomville. She was a member of the former Honey Creek Rebekah Lodge, the former Melmore Pinochle Card Club and the former Liberty Club.
She was a matron of Eden Jr. Grange for 25 years.
The funeral is at 7 p.m. Friday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Howard Huston officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery, Seneca County. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

FINDLAY - Maurice F. Grundtisch, Findlay, died at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the emergency room at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was 81.
Born June 27, 1926 in Upper Sandusky, he was a son of Harvey and Gladys (Larick) Grundtisch. He married Patricia A. Lang on June 20, 1950 and she survives.
Mr. Grundtisch also is survived by two sons, Michael and David, both of Findlay; and a brother, Dwight, Sycamore.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Frederick.
Mr. Grundtisch attended McCutchenville High School, where he lettered in baseball and basketball.
He served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific at Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.
He had been a painting contractor for more than 50 years.
Mr. Grundtisch was interested in all sports and was a long-time Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoyed playing golf in his younger years, having accomplished a hole-in-one. He loved his pets and taking walks in the park. He also enjoyed working in his yard and flower beds and spending time with his family.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay, with the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
