Geanie Dick

CAREY - Geanie Dick, formerly of Carey, died at 2:23 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 89.
Born Sept. 16, 1918 in Salyersville, Ky., she was a daughter of Linden and Gracie (Craft) Ray. She married Nelson G. Dick on Aug. 17, 1946 and he died July 9, 2006.
Mrs. Dick is survived by five sisters, Jessie Tharp, Upper Sandusky; Thelma Caudill, Vanlue; and Lola Lemaster, Delma Baldwin and Ethel Lasley, all of Carey; two brothers, Carl Ray, DeGraff; and Manuel Ray, Carey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Dick had worked at Carey Handle and Lumbor Factory and was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Carey.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Mahan and Brent Layne. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Alvada. Visitation is from 4-8 tonight at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Center Activity Fund for Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, First Free Will Baptist Church or an organization of the donor's choice in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

A. Jane Roberts

NEVADA - Jane Roberts, Nevada, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 after a battle with lung cancer. She was 68.
Born on Jan. 21, 1940 in Lewis County, Ky., she was a daughter of Dick and Melvia (Esham) Rose. She married Ray Roberts and he died.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by a son, Deryll Keatting, Nevada; two daughters, Crystal Leitzy, Monnett; and Jamie Postell, Bucyrus; five grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Bally, Oberlin; and Sharon Poe, Maysville; and two brothers, Fred Rose, Hillsboro; and Bill Rose, Woodstock, Ga.
She was preceded in death by a son, Keith Rhoden; a daughter, Tammy Volkmer; a half-sister, Marcella Verbarg; two sisters, Opal Medley and Marlene Holdcraft; and a brother, Harold Rose.
Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and retired from Millington Plastics-Blackhawk in Upper Sandusky.
She enjoyed spending time wtih family and friends.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Mike Wiechers officiating. Burial will be at Nevada Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
