Alfred Wagner
Alfred Bryan Wagner, Upper Sandusky, passed from this life to his eternal home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community North Campus. He was 86.
Born Jan. 18, 1922 in Carey, he was a son of Alfred B. Wagner Sr. and Ida (Riedel) Wagner and Chris and Lena Luthy. He married Betty Mae Hogan on Sept. 3, 1943 in Upper Sandusky and she survives.
Mr. Wagner also is survived by three sons, Larry (Cindy), Raymond; Michael (Bet), Findlay; and Stephan (Karen), Perrysburg; a daughter, Becky (John) Frederick, Upper Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Linaberry, Rockford, Ill.; and Janiece Olmstead, Bettsville; and two stepsisters, Edith Easley, Tupelo, Miss.; and Joyce Kidd, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Wagner; three sisters, Viola Sheaffer, Betty Everhart and Florence Margraf; two brothers, Austin Wagner and Don Richardson; and a stepbrother, Joe Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was a farmer and former cheese-maker at Chief Dairy. He retired after 36 years of employment from Wyandot Dolomite Stone Quarry, Carey.
He was a member for 64 years of Apostolic Gospel Church, Upper Sandusky, where he served as head usher and an honorary elder.
He loved performing maintenance and grounds keeping at the church. He also enjoyed gardening, growing and crafting gourds.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Apostolic Gospel Church with the Revs. Greg Hord and Larry Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Allen E. Larick, Upper Sandusky, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community North Campus. He was 86.
Born Feb. 19, 1922 in Upper Sandusky, he was a son of Nobel E. and Ethel M. (Caldwell) Larick. He married Lois Sizemore on Feb. 2, 1946 and she died March 2, 2006.
Mr. Larick is survived by a son, Steve, Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Cheryl Mulvain, Carey; a sister, Mary Lou Gillen, Upper Sandusky; and a brother, Leo Larick, Harpster.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Olivine Larick.
Mr. Larick was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a machinist and had worked for Day-Brook, United Aircraft and Mar-Metal. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Larick enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially for duck.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Christopher D. Cravens officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by local service organizations. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.

CRIDERSVILLE - Dwight Richard Hotelling, of Cridersville and formerly of Fostoria and Ocala, Fla., died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Cridersville Health Care. He was 86.
Born Aug. 22, 1921 in Upper Sandusky, he was a son of Grover Luther and Bessie Cilpha Barth Lawrence Hotelling. He married Virginia Louise Williams who survives in Cridersville.
He also is survived by Sharon Brown, Florida; Roger Frederick Hotelling, Shiloh; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren and great-stepchildren; and two brothers, Paul, Fontana, Calif.; and Darrell, Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Leighty; and four brothers, Glenn, Charles, Wayne and Roger.
Hotelling was owner and operator of Sweeper Sales and Service, Fostoria. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
No public services or visitation are planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements are being handled by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

Michelle Ann Pennington, West Fairview Street, Upper Sandusky, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She was 39.
Born Aug. 15, 1968 in Tiffin, she was a daughter of Ray and Shirley (Aspell) Welch, Michigan. She also was a daughter of her adoptive parents, Judy Caudill, Upper Sandusky; and Ronald and Marlene Caudill, Tiffin. She married Robert E. Pennington on Aug. 21, 2005 and he survives.
Mrs. Pennington also is survived by a daughter, Christina J. Caudill, Upper Sandusky; two sons, Robert E. Jr. and Caleb M., both of Upper Sandusky; two stepgrandchildren, Bobbie Jo Thompson and Heath Pennington, both of Marion; six grandchildren; three stepchildren; four sisters, Wanda Forbes, North Carolina; Kim Masunas, Michigan; Marietta Clark, Indiana; and Cecelia Williamson, Fremont; and a brother, Kenny Titus, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and an uncle.
Mrs. Pennington was a member of Oceola United Methodist Church. She worked at Wal-Mart, Findlay, until 2006.
She enjoyed bowling, attending her children's sports events and camping and outdoor activities. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home with the Revs. Pat Fruth and Bob Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

NEVADA - Anna J. Roberts, Nevada, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at Community Health Care Center, Marion. She was 68.

CAREY - Geanie Dick, formerly of Carey, died at 2:23 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 89.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Carey. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
