BUCYRUS - Clara Lorena VanBuskirk, Upper Sandusky and formerly of Bucyrus, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community. She was 85.
Born Feb. 18, 1923 in Kenton, she was a daughter of Carey and Iola (Predmore) Kahley. She married Glenn "Lou" VanBuskirk and he died Jan. 22, 1990.
Mrs. VanBuskirk is survived by a daughter, Nellie Ross, Upper Sandusky; a son, Jerry VanBuskirk, Bascom; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marie Simpkins, Findlay; Betty Keller, Marion; and Ruth Curtin, Kenton.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frieda Kronenberger; a granddaughter, Tamara VanBuskirk; a sister, Vera Pever; and six brothers, Carey Jr., Paul, Leonn, Jim, William and John Kahley.
Mrs. VanBuskirk attended school in Kenton and worked at General Electric in Bucyrus for several years. She retired from Bucyrus Community Hospital.
She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus, with the Rev. Mary Curtis officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
