Wayne Lodge

MARION - Wayne F. Lodge, Marion, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Marion General Hospital. He was 80.
Born Jan. 31, 1928 in Wyandot County, he was a son of Karl Frances and Grace Faye (Swartz) Lodge. He married Bessie Euline (Letner) on May 27, 1972 in Marion, and she died May 23, 2004.
Mr. Lodge is survived by two sons, Kenneth "Mike," Marion; and Jerald, Geneva; a stepson, David Arp, Marion; three stepdaughters, Betty MacNail, Marion; Jean Chapman, LaFayette, Ga.; and Barbara Hupp, Marysville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry, Kirby; and two sisters, Romaine Whitt and Ida Mae Brown, both of Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon.
Mr. Lodge formerly worked at Popped Right Corn Co., Tecumseh Products Co. and Marion Steel Co., from which he retired from maintenance in 1993. He worked in maintenance his whole life.
He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
He was a past volunteer with the Harpster Fire Department.
Mr. Lodge enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed gardening in the later years of his life.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at Boyd Funeral Home, Marion, with the Rev. Weston Jones officiating. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Morral. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Marjorie Shane

Marjorie Reile Shane, formerly of U.S. 30, Upper Sandusky, and more recently of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died at 8:27 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at the nursing facility. She was 95.
Born Dec. 24, 1912 in Wyandot County, she was a daughter of Edward S. and Lillian Mae (Hetzel) Wyss. She married Ulrich Reile and they divorced. She later married Wilbur Shane. Both preceded her in death.
Mrs. Reile Shane is survived by a son, James W. (Emma) Reile, Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Kathleen (Nolan) Green, Jacksonville, Texas; five grandchildren, James E. and Randall Reile, both of Upper Sandusky; Patricia Young, Upper Sandusky; Donald Reile, Columbus; and Rachel Kaplan, Streetsboro; 10 great-grandchildren, Kara Artur, Upper Sandusky; Jevon Reile, Streetsboro; Jessica, Hannah and Joseph Reile and Stuart, Abigail and Evan Young, all of Upper Sandusky; and Kiersten and Chloe Kaplan, both of Maineville; a stepgrandson, Nathan Green, Houston, Texas; two stepgreat-grandsons, David and Daniel Green, both of Houston; and Sandra (Reile) Micheli and family, Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Koehler.
A 1930 Salem High School graduate, Mrs. Reile Shane was a homemaker, and had worked at Fairhaven Home, Westinghouse and Millington Corps.
She was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school pianist and teacher. She also was a member of the Ruth Naomi Circle of the church.
Mrs. Reile Shane was a bloodmobile runner for the American Red Cross for many years.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and collecting butterflies. She and her husband, Wilbur Shane, loved to travel all around the world.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Seibert officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Carl Harr

The Rev. Carl E. Harr, known as "Daddy Harr," North Seventh Street, Upper Sandusky, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Ohio 199, Upper Sandusky. He was 85.
Born March 8, 1922 in Alum Bank, Pa., he was a son of Dennis Blaine and Ida Viola (McDannel) Harr. He married Annie C. Trefry on June 17, 1949 in Beverly, Mass., and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
Mr. Harr also is survived by three sons, Stephen W., Tim E. and Gary Wess, all of Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren, Bryan, Summer and Nicholas Harr; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Bethel Harr, Alum Bank, Pa.; and Edna Harr, Everett, Pa.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth.
Mr. Harr graduated from Eastern Nazarene College and Wollaston Massachusetts Ministry, and attended Findlay College and received his teacher certificate.
He was a minister in North Harwich, Mass.; Dennis Port on Cape Cod, Mass.; and Bellevue, Roseville, McArthur and Upper Sandusky. He retired in 1975 from being the Church of the Nazarene minister, but continued to minister throughout Ohio.
Mr. Harr and his wife owned and operated the Harr's Day Care Center, where he was known as Daddy Harr to many children. He taught school in Carey Exempted Village Schools and was a substitute teacher for St. Peter's School and in Carey and Upper Sandusky schools.
He also taught religious education and drove a school bus for area school systems.
He enjoyed doing carpentry work, attending auctions and helping people in the community.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Chew officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James Parsell

James E. Parsell, Upper Sandusky, died at 9:13 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Marion General Hospital. He was 83.
Born Dec. 17, 1924 in Wyandot County, he was a son of Marion V. and Mildred (Quail) Parsell. He married Kathryn Cora Myers on July 3, 1954 at York Street Christian Church, rural Upper Sandusky, and she survives.
Mr. Parsell also is survived by three sons, Doug and Devin, both of Upper Sandusky; and Dennis, Sycamore; two daughters, Dianna Walton, Sycamore; and Donna Thomas, Harpster; 18 grandchildren, Jerrod, Wesley, Lauren, Kori, Kyle, Kristen, Nicole, Scott and Amy Parsell; Nelson, Vernon and Creston Kinley; Cheryl Bowen; Lisa, Amanda and Nathan Walton; Leslie Thomas and Lorri Stewart; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Parsell, Findlay; and Lewis Parsell, Forest; and four sisters, Estell Bowers, Nevada; Irma Arnold, Marseilles; Wanda Stout, Parkersburg, W.Va.; and Vera Hopkins, Fayette.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Karl, Vernon and Donald Parsell; and a sister, Mary Parsell.
Mr. Parsell owned and operated Parsell TV and Radio Repair for 56 years before he retired in 2007.
He was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church.
He also was a membe of Eagles Club No. 2184, where he was a past president; Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge No. 1093, where he was a past governor; and the American Legion Post No. 225.
He enjoyed bowling on the Industrial I League and sponsoring the Parsell Radio and TV Repair bowling team on Tuesday nights. He also enjoyed cooking, baking and camping at Tee Pee Campgrounds.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating. Burial will be at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frank Blackburn

FOREST- Frank M. Blackburn, formerly of Forest, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. He was 90.
