CAREY — Michael L. Caudill, of Carey, died at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at his residence. He was 61.
Born April 15, 1951 in Findlay, he was a son of the late Louis “Buck” and Mary Baldridge Henry. He married Barbara J. Ewing on Sept. 28, 1974 at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey, and she survives in Carey.
Mr. Caudill also is survived by three children, Ryan (Rachel) Caudill, Findlay; and Lindsay Caudill and Spenser Caudill, both of Carey; and two grandchildren, Brody and Baylen Caudill.
Mr. Caudill was looking forward to the birth of his third grandchild, Brayden, in March.
He was a 1969 Carey High School graduate. Mr. Caudill’s career as a carpenter started with his father building and remodeling homes in the Carey area. Most recently, he worked for construction companies in the Carey and Findlay areas.
Mr. Caudill was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, Carey.
He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3759, Carey.
Mr. Caudill loved making anything out of wood and always will be remembered by his family for leaving a trail of sawdust coming in the door from a long day of work. He was an avid Blue Devils, Buckeyes, Indians and Browns fan and previously helped with the MJM youth girls softball program in Carey. He loved music and sang in several area bands in the 1970s and ’80s. Mr. Caudill also enjoyed going mushroom hunting in Michigan and cruising the Caribbean with friends and family.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Joe Turner officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
