Mary E. England, of Tiffin, died at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her granddaughter’s home in Berwick, which for many years was her home. She was 83.
Born Sept. 6, 1930 in Holgate, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Musa (Warner) Church. She married Harold L. “Doggie” England on Aug. 6, 1946 in Tiffin and he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1998.
Surviving are five children, Ronald (Cheri) England, Fremont; Steven (Diane) England, Republic; Richard England, Carey; Judy Stockdale, Tiffin; and Gloria (Birchard) Valentic, Berwick; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three daughters, Linda Wilcox, Martha Burd and Pamela Harrison; four grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters.
A homemaker, Mrs. England also worked as a laborer at Ameriwood and as a bartender at the Bel-Mar, both in Tiffin.
Funeral services are 12 p.m. Tuesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. James Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery near Carey. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
