CAREY — Mary D. Beckley, of Carey, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She was 68.
Born March 5, 1944 in Cole Camp, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Gordia M (Young) Beckley Sr.
Surviving are three sisters, Nellie Niederkohr and Minnie Lynch, both of Carey; and Alma P. Parsons, of Upper Sandusky; a brother, Todd S. Beckley, of Paradise, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Sam Beckley Jr., and an infant sister, Betty Sue Beckley.
A graduate of Carey High School, Miss Beckley attended Bowling Green State University to be a licensed practical nurse and became a registered nurse from the Lima School of Nursing. She was a RN at Blanchard Valley Hospital for 44 years, retiring in 2009.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Her love of travel took her all over Europe and Hawaii many times over the years. She kept her hands busy doing needle work and her mind active reading books.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Penny Magee officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
