CAREY — Linda Jones, of Carey, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was 63.
Born May 13, 1948 in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Elsie (Dick) Craft.
She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Jones, Findlay, and Steven L. Jones, Carey; a sister, Susie Fisher, and a brother, James Craft, both of Carey.
Ms. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Craft, and a sister, Maggie Barfell.
A 1966 graduate of Carey High School, she retired from the dietary department at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky. Prior to that, she had worked at The Carey House Inn, Carey.
Ms. Jones was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 2184, Upper Sandusky, for which she served as president for two terms.
In her younger days, she enjoyed going to dances and following Tom Kromer’s band, The Cruz Band.
Ms. Jones loved family gatherings and keeping in touch with family and friends through email. Her hobbies included cooking, baking and reading mysteries and romance novels. She also was a “chocoholic.”
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. The funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dorcas Carey Public Library or Carey Food Pantry in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316-1169.
