John R. “Worm” Williams, age 75, of Upper Sandusky, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 5, 1947, in Marion to the late C.R. and Hazel (Baird) Williams. He married Robbe L. (Trachsel) Williams on March 2, 1968, and she survives and resides in Upper Sandusky.

John also is survived by his daughters Reagan A. Turner, Sunbury; and Candice (Mike) Young, Delaware; grandchildren Kameron Beekman, Chase Beekman, Callan Young and Kelby Young; a great-granddaughter Evelyn Stewart; and a sister-in-law, Janice Williams. 

He was preceded in in death by brothers Robert Williams and James Williams.

John was a 1965 graduate of Marion Harding High School. e served in the Ohio National Guard for six years. Mr. Williams retired from Whirlpool, Marion after many years of employment. He also was a live sports broadcaster for WYNT 95.9 radio.

He was a member of BPOE No. 83 and AMVETS Post No. 777, he enjoyed playing softball for Bowen Implement in his early years and golfed in his later years. He enjoyed watching and following Cleveland sports and OSU football and basketball.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Old Mission Cemetery with chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard or a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
