Harry B. Shearer, of Upper Sandusky, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was 72.

The funeral is at 4 p.m. Monday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:30-4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Born July 4, 1943 in Grayson, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Harry Collins and Virgie Olive (Davis) Shearer. He married Irma L. Pfleider on Nov. 4, 1961 in Upper Sandusky, and she survives.

Mr. Shearer also is survived by three daughters, Amy (Rick) Roe, Galion; Pat (Brian) Green, Marion; and Lori (Verl) Dye, Oregon; seven grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Kirtley, Lucas (Kayla Penrod) Dye, Cameron Roe, Casey Dye and Matthew Green; five great-grandchildren, Declan, Greyson, Gwendolyn, Hayden and Carmen; three sisters, Mollie (Vernon) Brinson, Upper Sandusky; Louise (Loren) Schley, New Madison; and Sandy Leightey, Upper Sandusky; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shearer graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1961 and Marion Technical College. He retired in 2009 from MTC, where he worked as an information technology technician. Before that, he worked for Marion Power Shovel/Dresser Industries from 1961-99.

Mr. Shearer was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

For hobbies, he enjoyed playing music, fishing and woodworking.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Liberty Freedom Center Food Bank in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky OH 43351.
