FOREST — Gladys M. Roach, formerly of Patterson, died at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 90.
Born Oct. 31, 1921 in Grant, she was a daughter of the late Earl G. and Luella N. (Halsey) Mewhorter. She married Russell Johnson and he died in 1969. She married Emerson R. Roach on June 17, 1977 and he died Jan. 28, 1997.
Mrs. Roach is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wolford, Kirby; two stepchildren, R. Ray (Murna) Roach and Owen Roach, both of Forest; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Terrie and Susan Roach; two grandchildren; four brothers, George Mewhorter, Klyde Mewhorter, Kenny Mewhorter and Robert Mewhorter; and three sisters, Vera Mewhorter, Kathryn Spearman and Mabel Lamb.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Patterson Cemetery, Forest, with the Rev. Denny Livingston officiating.
