Emily McClintock
NEVADA — Emily J. McClintock, of Nevada and most recently of Goshen, Ind., died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Greencroft Community Healthcare Facility, Goshen. She was 93.
Born Nov. 5, 1918 in Bucyrus, she was a daughter of C.N. and Ada (Scholl) Jump, both deceased. She married Raymond M. “Mac” McClintock on Aug. 31, 1938 and he died Oct. 17, 1992.
Surviving are three children, Raymond (Barbara) McClintock, of Huntsville, Texas; Susan (Monroe) Kalb Yoder, of Goshen; and Dennis (Jane) McClintock, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Ronald McClintock, Heidi McClintock, James Kalb, Jackie Kelly, Joshua McClintock, Jeremy McClintock, Ian McClintock and Brandon McClintock; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Shawk.
Mrs. McClintock was a graduate of Holmes Liberty School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University. She was a homemaker and in her earlier years, had worked for Swan Hose, Bucyrus.
She was a member of Nevada United Methodist Church, where she was a former member of the United Methodist Women. She was member of Bucyrus Chapter No. 3 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a 50-year member and a past deputy grand matron. She also was a member of Pythian Sisters No. 412 Nevada Temple, where she was a 60-year member and served as a district deputy for three years and as grand chief in Ohio in 1984-85. She was a member of the Imperial Santha Nomads of Avrudaka No. 79, Findlay; and a former member of the Nevada Fireman’s Auxiliary, serving as district secretary for several years.
For hobbies, Mrs. McClintock enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses, feeding the birds and watching sports, especially the Wynford Royals and the Cleveland Indians.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Jerry Kalb and Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be an Eastern Star memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a Pythian Sisters memorial service at 7:45 p.m.
